When traveling to Peru, you’ll want to ensure you’re as well-prepared as possible. It’s important to consider the use of power outlets and plugs in your destination country. Not every country uses the same type of outlets, and of course, you’ll want to be able to use your phone, camera, shaver, and other electronic devices. Additionally, some countries have different voltage levels or frequencies. You may need a travel adapter, also known as a universal adapter. In the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, and European countries, the following plug types are used:

• United States and Canada: Type A and B plugs. Type A plugs are compatible with outlets in Peru, but Type B plugs are not.
• Australia: Type I plugs. These fit only in type I outlets and are not compatible with outlets in Peru.
• United Kingdom: Type G plugs. These fit only in type G outlets and are not compatible with outlets in Peru.
• European countries: Type C, E, and F plugs. Type C, E, and F plugs are compatible with outlets in Peru.

In Peru, the standard plug types are Type A and Type C. If you are traveling from a country that uses a different plug type, you will need a travel adapter.
